Charlie Smith serves as a Managing Director, Geopolitical Strategy in Newmark Global Consulting.

A specialist in geopolitical shifts and their impacts, Charlie provides clients with advisory services on how to assess dynamic contexts as they relate to commercial real estate decisions. He works with organizations to understand their needs and anticipated challenges surrounding political, economic, and local market changes.

His scope covers analysis of both international locations and internal US political geographies. His background in global supply chain operations and frontier and emerging market consultancies informs his perspective on how external dynamics can affect businesses. Charlie’s work experience spans North America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Southeast Asia. He currently works with organizations of all sizes and geographic locations, including long-time global organizations or ones considering new markets.

Charlie has been featured in the Summit Journal (Association of Foreign Investors in Real Estate) and Real Estate Capital US, among other outlets, and is a member of the Association of International Risk Intelligence Professionals. Charlie has a MA in International Relations and Economics from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies.
