About The Logistics Development Forum

What is Logistics/Supply Chain?

Logistics/supply chain is defined as a system of organizations, people, technology, activities, information and resources involved in moving a product or service from supplier to customer.

What is Site Selection?

Site selection is defined as the process of choosing the optimal location for a business based on accessibility to and availability of customers, as well as considerations as to space costs, size, and other physical characteristics, zoning regulations, investment tax credits, and the quality of the available workforce.

What is the Goal of the Logistics Development Forum?

The purpose of the Logistics Development Forum is to combine the supply chain and location selection process. The Forum brings together site consultants and economic developers to better understand the role of logistics in the location selection and trade development process. The Forum is designed to create a two-way dialogue that provides individual meetings, educational sessions and networking in a relaxed business setting.

WHO Should Attend?

LDF is for Economic/Trade Developers who:

  • Seek a better understanding of the importance of logistics/supply chain in the site location process and seek knowledge as to how best to develop a strategy to promote their logistical advantages.
  • Understand the critical nature of moving products faster and more cost effectively, and are already positioned logistically to take advantage of this growing market but seek information on current marketing strategies necessary to attract companies with a critical logistics/supply chain requirement.
  • Seek help in identifying those companies with a critical logistics/supply chain requirement.
